<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the buffer size of a sprite picture to be small and to prevent cost from becoming expensive in the moving picture encding/decoding of an MPEG-4 system. SOLUTION: A sprite divider 110 for dividing a decoded sprite picture into blocks, a block encoder 111 for executing encoding every block and storing the result in a block buffer 109, and a block decoder 112 for reading code data corresponding to at least one block and executing a decoding processing are installed. The decoded sprite picture is divided into the blocks, are encoded for the respective blocks and are preserved. Thus, the size of the buffer 109 can be reduced compared to a case that the decoded picture is stored as it is. The pictures are read for the respective blocks from the buffer 109 and they can be decoded. Thus, a necessary part can more easily be stubbed and reused.</p> |
