PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the recording density by correcting the duty of a recording mark to be recorded on a third magnetic layer by a correction amount depending on the mark length and performing the recording. SOLUTION: A signal to be recorded on a magneto-optical disk 1 is inputted to a mark length detection circuit 4 and a recording duty correction circuit 5. The mark lengths of all marks are detected, and mark length information is outputted to the recording duty correction circuit 5 at the timing synchronized with a recording signal. The recording duty correction circuit 5 corrects out-of-duty depending on respective mark lengths of the recording signal by the mark length information inputted from the mark length detection circuit 4 and out-of-duty amount information of respective marks when a reproducing auxiliary magnetic field capable of removing a beforehand obtained pseudo mark is applied. The effect of the pseudo mark due to magnetic wall movement from the rear is eliminated by applying the reproducing auxiliary magnetic field at the reproducing time by this recording correction, and the out-of-duty of a regenerative signal due to the reproducing auxiliary magnetic field is eliminated.
