The invention relates to a device and method for determining a spatial position of an object (103, 201, 301, 401) by heating in which an image-generating thermal sensor (105, 205, 305, 405) detects a thermal image of the surroundings, and corresponding signals are sent to a processing unit (106, 203, 307, 406) which is coupled to the sensor. The processing unit receives the signals, evaluates the image with regard to a thermal marking (104, 204), and determines the spatial position of the object according to the marking. The device and the method can be used in conjunction with a robot for the orientation thereof and for controlling the travel path of said robot. |
