PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform lathe machining by easily ensuring a reference surface to be fixed to a lathe chuck in lathe-machining a forgedly machined pinion. SOLUTION: A gear with a shaft forming a gear part 4 at the tip of a tip part 5 is formed by forging, and is fixed to a lathe chuck 3 via a cutting jig 1 having a gear part 10 having the same tooth shape as that of the gear part 4. In this condition, the outer periphery of the tip part 5 is cut to form a reference surface, and then the reference surface of the tip part 5 is fixed to the lathe chuck, and in this condition, the center hole and the outer periphery of a shaft part 2 are cut to manufacture the gear with the shaft.
