PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to easily carry out an operation for changing the setting of a drag force in case of withdrawing a fishline. SOLUTION: In this fishing reel, a driving gear 7 is rotatively engaged to the periphery of a handle shaft 24, a cylindrical part 7b is formed on the side of the handle of the driving gear 7 and the outer circle 30 of a one way- rotatable crutch D is engagingly fixed in the cylindrical part 7b, and the cylindrical part 9a of a rotation controller 9 is used as the inner circle of the rotation controller 9. A shaft cylindrical part 2d is protrusively formed on the outer side of a right side plate 2, a screw part 2e is formed on the periphery and a screw part 8b in a cylindrical part 8a of an adjuster 8 is screwed to the screw part 2e. A concave part 2f for housing part items of a breaking mechanism E and a bearing 28 is formed on the inside of the cylindrical part 2d. The part items of the breaking mechanism E consist of a friction-plate 33, a flange 9a of the rotation controller 9, a damping plate 34, a damping plate 35, a bearing and a thrust material 36. The thrust material 36 is thrust by the adjuster 8 through a spring 39.
