PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sensor which endures use under a large temperature difference environment, absorbs external large mechanical shocks, and has a stable electrically insulating ability, a large mechanical shock resistance, and a high reliability by housing a thermistor element in a cap of rubber or synthetic resin, etc., abundant in elasticity, housing them in a metal case after that, and caulking the vicinity of the opening edge of the metal case into a recessed shape with the can between. SOLUTION: Lead wires 4 are soldered to both electrode surfaces of a thermistor element 3, and the tips of the lead wires 4 are soldered to the core wires 6 of external electric wires 1 cut at different lengths making a step. After that, the thermistor element 3 is housed in a cap 8 made of rubber or resin abundant in elasticity, and furthermore they are housed in a metal case 2. After that, the vicinity of the opening edge of the metal case 2 is standard-size-caulked at the whole circumference with the cap 8 between by a load of 120 kg/cm2 from above the coats of the external electric wires 1. Consequently, direct adhesion of the metal case 2 and the element is avoided, and the thermistor element is prevented from being used in a large temperature difference environment. Besides, split, etc., of members themselves are prevented. A constitution excellent mechanically and in weatherability as well is obtained, and the thermistor element becomes endurable against long-time severe use.
