PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly recognize the number of prepared memories and their allocation at all times despite a change of the number of memories by adding plural terminals to every memory to set its recognition number. SOLUTION: A memory card 11 has one or more memory IC chips 12 contained in a casing of a physical shape that is conformed with a PCMCIA standard, for example. The terminals ID00 to ID03 are added to every chip 12 to set a recognition number of the chip 12, and the binary signals corresponding to the recognition number are fixedly inputted to these terminals. For instance, the recognition number of the chip 12 is shown in '10' of decimal notation and binary signals '1', '0', '1' and '0' are fixedly inputted to the terminals ID00 to ID03 respectively.
