<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing method for rewrite card in which a clearer color print can be realized by suppressing the effect of ambient temperature while shortening the printing time. SOLUTION: A thermal head 11 is heated up to erasing temperature range by applying an initial print voltage from a variable power supply 10. Subsequently, an external controller delivers a temperature correction value to a CPU 7 based on the output from a thermal head temperature measurement sensor 12 an ambient temperature sensor 13 in order to take account of temperature correction in the processing conditions. After switching is made to print erase voltage lower than the print voltage by the CPU 7, intermittent on/off conduction patter corresponding to temperature correction is repeated and switching is made again to print voltage at the time of printing.</p> |
