PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior wall material capable of preventing a straight- line connection of the mutual vertical joints of the upper and lower exterior wall materials and capable of forming a tile-like exterior wall having appearance without a sense of incompatibility. SOLUTION: The exterior wall material has a tile-like joint pattern, in which a plurality of horizontal joints 12a, 12b, 12c are formed in the longitudinal direction while vertical joints 13a, 13b, 13c are formed among each horizontal joint at regular pitches, and a plurality of wall materials are joined vertically, thus constituting an exterior wall. The pitches of the vertical joints among each horizontal joint are formed at regular pitches at that time, and the pitches Pa of the vertical joints 13a at an uppermost stage and the pitches Pc of the vertical joints 13c at a lowermost stage are set in different size.
