PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of vibration of overflow water film and low frequency noise induced by the vibration without adopting a member for blocking the flow of the overflow water. SOLUTION: This is an overflow type gate 11 with which an overflow water film 14 is formed from an overflow current and dropped from an upper end portion 13 of a gate 12 to be opened or closed. In this case, water 21 is jetted toward an overflow water film 14 to be dropped and the overflow water film 14 is subdivided in the width direction of the gate 12 thereby prohibiting the formation of a large area of the overflow water film 14, therefore the vibration of overflow film and the occurrence of low frequency noise induced by the overflow film can be prevented without using members for blocking the flow of the overflow water.
