PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder of a wire-shaped light transmission body which obviates the generation of undue stresses in spite of a change in the ambient environment, such as a temp. change, and the presence of the some variations in the sizes of parts, facilitates assembly, is good in productivity and allows reassembly even if the holder is disassembled after a test. SOLUTION: This holder has a tubular chuck 2 which has a holding parts 10 divided to a plurality, a tubular body 3 which presses these holding parts 10 to the inner side in a diametral direction by fitting into the holding parts 10 of the chuck 2 and a elastic body 4 which elastically energizes the holding parts 10 of the chuck 2 and the tubular body 3 in a fitting direction. An optical fiber 6 is inserted between the holding parts 10 of the chuck 2, the elastic body 4 is elastically deformed and the holding parts 10 of the chuck 2 are fitted into the tubular body 3 by moving the tubular body 3 relatively to the chuck 2, by which the holding parts 10 are pressed to the inner side in the diametral direction and the optical fiber 6 is elastically held. This holding state is maintained by the elastic body 4.
