PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To divide and transmit/receive a message corresponding to a transmission speed relating to message division communication method and communication system in the case that an equipment connected through a high-speed bus to a host and an equipment connected through a low-speed bus coexist. SOLUTION: The host 1 such as a central controller and the equipment 2 such as a speech path equipment are connected by the high-speed bus 4 through respective interface parts 12 and 13 and a remote equipment 3 such as a remote line concentration device is connected by the low-speed buses 5 and 6 through the respective interface parts 12, 15 and 16. The transmission/ reception control part 11 of the host 1 specifies a maximum message length corresponding to the transmission speed to the remote equipment 3 connected through the low-speed buses 5 and 6. Corresponding to the specified maximum message length, the transmission/reception control part 17 of the remote equipment 3 and the transmission/reception control part 11 of the host 1 divide and transmit/receive the message, and by instructing the transmission order of divided messages, the divided messages are assembled on a reception side.
