PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fixing device constituted so that the handling problem and the handling restriction of a paper can be minimized without rapidly heating the paper or mechanically damaging it. SOLUTION: This fixing device is provided with a non-contact heating body 20 arranged by giving a prescribed gap between the fixing surface of a recording material, contact heating bodies 30 and 40 arranged so that they can be brought into contact with the opposite surface of the recording material to the fixing surface thereof and a heating adjustment means reducing the heating of the recording material by at least one side out of the mutually facing the non- contact heating body and the contact heating bodies prescribed time after a printing action is started. By this fixing device, the handling problem and the handling restriction of the paper can be minimized without rapidly heating the paper or mechanically damaging it. Besides, the inexpensive and compact fixing device constituted so that consumables and power consumption are reduced to the utmost is provided.
