CLEANER WITH SOFT STARTING FUNCTION AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make startable a cleaner so as to lower the transient torque to an allowable level by varying from a first value to a second value higher than it with the applying energy of a driving device as the function of rotor speed and controlling the torque generated by a motor in the middle of starting. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner is provided with a fan unit 19 to be driven by the rotor 18 of a switching-type reluctance motor 12 and a flexible hose 21 provided with a cleaning nozzle 23 at its end part. The motor 12 is driven by the supply of power from the DC power source 11 of an AC power source and a DC voltage provided from the power source 11 is applied to the phase winding 16 of the motor 12 through a power transformer 13 controlled by an electronic controlling unit 14. At this time, the current of the phase winding 16 is detected by a current sensor 17 and a switch in the transformer 13 is operated according to deviation between an actual phase current and a desired phase current to control the applying voltage of the motor 12 from the first value to the second value higher than it.
