PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheetlike heat-storable and heat-insulating material suitable for e.g. cold-protective clothes or bedclothes by producing a sheetlike material comprising a high moisture-absorbable fiber and far-infrared radiating fiber. SOLUTION: This heat-storable and heat-insulating material is obtained by forming a sheetlike material, wherein there are admixed both an acryl cross- linked moisture-absorbable fiber having a high moisture-absorbing rate of 20 to 50% at 20 deg.C at 65% RH and a fiber containing a far-infrared radiating substance e.g. titanium oxide in the ratio of 15 to 50 wt.%, pref., 30 to 50 wt.% based on the total weight of the resultant product, and whereby the heat-storable and heat-insulating material utilizes an exothermicall moisture-absorbing property held by the high moisture-absorbable fiber.
