PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup sensor which outputs an image signal that is optimum to perform image processing system. SOLUTION: An operation means which calculates at least one value among the maximum value of each pixel signal outputted from an image pickup device 11, the minimum value, the difference value between the maximum and minimum values and the address value of a pixel that outputs the maximum value or the minimum value is provided on the same IC chip on which the image pickup device that outputs plural pixel signals is mounted and an image signal in a format that is suitable for image signal processing is outputted from an image pickup sensor 10. Thus, the accuracy of image signal processing is improved and also the acceleration of a signal processing speed is accomplished.
