PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which prevents an abnormal rise in the temperature of a heating element caused by a malfunction of a power supply means incorporating, for example, a switching element or the like used for controlling the supply of power to the heating element provided in a heat fixing means. SOLUTION: The image forming device, which heats and fixes a toner image on the surface of a recording material to the surface of the recording material by the heat fixing means having the heating element, has a temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of the heat fixing means, the power supply means 32 for supplying power to the heating element 33, a power supply instruction control means 35 for controlling the power supply means 32 based on the temperature detected by the temperature detection means 34, and a voltage detection means 43 for detecting the voltage value at the terminal of the power supply means. |
