SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of rare earth magnetic powder includes the processes of a temperature raising process 1, where a temperature of rare earth magnet alloy in which a component T substituting R and Fe or a part of Fe by Co and Ni, and a component substituting B or a part of B by C are made main component is raised from a room temperature to lower than 500 deg.C or raised and held at the temperature, in nonoxidizing atmosphere, a hydrogen occluding treatment process 2 where a temperature is raised up to a specified temperature in the range of 500-1,000 deg.C and held at the specified temperature, in hydrogen atmosphere or mixture gas atmosphere of hydrogen and inert gas, a thermal treatment process 3 in reduced pressure hydrogen where holding is performed at a specified temperature in the range of 500-1, 000 deg.C and in hydrogen atmosphere whose absolute pressure is 5-100 Torr or mixture gas atmosphere of hydrogen and an inert gas whose hydrogen partial pressure is 5-100 Torr, a dehydration process 4, where holding is performed at a temperature in a range of 500-1,000 deg.C and in vacuum atmosphere whose ultimate pressure is at most 1×10-1 Torr, and a cooling process 5.
