<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system for monitoring communication between a chip and an external device and a method for operating this computer system. SOLUTION: An integrated circuit chip has an on-chip CPU 175 equipped with plural registers, address memory 176 for designating and storing the addresses of plural devices and external communication port connected to a communication bus for forming a parallel communication route between the CPU 175 and its internal first memory, the port is connected to an external type computer system at a lower parallel level than the internal type and forms one part of the memory address space of the CPU 175 capable of extracting an instruction and according to the instruction of the CPU 175, the address is designated. The external computer system is provided with a second memory, and an address detour means is provided for designating the port memory address of another device through the access of the CPU 175 through the port.</p> |
