PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a flaw existing in a steel structural material, including side geometry. SOLUTION: The upper face of a longitudinally long base block 3 is formed into a laterally curved cylindrical face 4. An ultrasonic transmitting probe 1a and an ultrasonic receiving probe 1b are held in a holder block 2 with a required space in the longitudinal direction. The lower face of the holder block 2 is also formed into a cylindrical face 4, and it is mounted on the base block 3 freely to oscillate the probes 1a, 1b to right and left sides via the holder block 2. The probes 1a, 1b are scanned on a flaw detecting portion, while oscillating the probes 1a, 1b to right and left sides. |
