Paper laminates for use in food packaging

The present invention provides a paper laminate for use in packaging of food comprising: (i) a fluorochemical treated paper having a first major side and an opposite second major side; (ii) a layer substantially free of fluorochemical compounds on said first major side; (iii) and an adhesive layer on said second major side or on said first major side between said layer substantially free of fluorochemical compounds and said fluorochemical treated paper, characterized in that the adhesive layer contains a fluorochemical oil repellent. The paper laminates can be used for the wrapping of food in a food package and provide an improved barrier against grease and oil attempting to penetrate from the inside of a food package to its surface. <IMAGE>
