PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device capable of realizing miniaturization and the simplification of the structure of a device main body, especially, the structure of an outside case. SOLUTION: In this projection type display device 1; a handle for carrying 80 is provided to be attached to/detached from a device main body 9 through an engaging part provided in the main body 9. Thus, the handle 80 is attached/ detached as the need of a user arises. Therefore, the handle 80 is detached from the main body 9 when it is not used, so that the device 1 is miniaturized.
