Reciprocating piston steam engine

The steam engine has a piston-cylinder assembly formed from the motor block of a Diesel engine which is altered by exchanging the inlet and outlet valve (74,76) ports. The transmission ratio between the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft is one to one. The valve control is set so that the inlet valve opens at top dead centre and closes after ninety degrees. The outlet valve opens at bottom dead centre and closes at top dead centre.
