PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric washing machine fully automated up to drying and causing no vibration or noise during spin-drying and no odors during drying, a method for reducing damage to washing, a washing net, and a method for using the same. SOLUTION: In a double-tube electric washing machine, an inner tub is decreased in height and freely slidably supported by the inner surface of an outer tub while leaving behind a removable gap between it and the inner surface of the outer tub. A water flow channel 4 that extends from top to bottom while in parallel with a sliding surface is formed in the outer tub part or at the upper end of the inner tub. The inner tub is connected at a joint part 5 by a vertically removable tongue-and-groove joint so that the space between the inner and outer tubs can be cleaned easily. Washing is effected by pouring water to such an extent that the upper end of the inner tub holding washing is immersed, then stopping rotation of the outer tub, drivingly rotating a pulsator, shutting the inner tub from a drive source, and rotating the inner tub following turning waterflow. During drying, the inner tub is rotated with an outer casing kept inclined to blow hot air against the washing.
