PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermosensible coloring composition enabling high-speed erasure of a colored image and being excellent in contrast stability of repetition of coloration and discoloration and a reversible thermal recording medium using this composition. SOLUTION: In a reversible thermosensible coloring composition utilizing a coloring reaction between an electron-donating color developing compound and an electron-accepting compound, a phenolic compound expressed by the formula is used as the electron-accepting compound. (In the formula, X denotes a single bond, -CH2-, -C2H4-, -CH=CH- or -NHCH2-, Y -CO-, -SO2-, -CONH- or -CSNH- and R a 6 or higher C alkyl. Besides, (n) denotes an integer of 1-3). |
