PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid preparation for internal use having a release rate of a principal ingredient comparable to that of a usual tablet or capsule and capable of ensuring the biological equivalence by finding out a method for controlling the release rate of the principal ingredient from a liquid preparation and using the method. SOLUTION: A sugar alcohol is added to thereby control the release rate of a principal ingredient from a liquid formulation and the amount thereof added is regulated to 1-15 wt./vol.% Thereby, a liquid preparation having the release rate comparable to that of a usual tablet or capsule and capable of ensuring the biological equivalence is obtained. Sorbital, mannitol, xylitol, erythritol, maltitol, etc. are cited as the sugar alcohol added in order to control the release rate of the principal ingredient, and the sorbitol is preferred.
