<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformily electrostatically charge a toner over a long period of time and to obtain a stable clear image by using a specified compd. or its metallic salt as a negative charge type charge controlling agent. SOLUTION: In this developer for developing an electrostatic charge image comprising a mixture of a toner contg. a negative charge type charge controlling agent and a resin coated carrier for developing an electrostatic charge image, a compd. represented by formula I or II or its metallic salt is used as the negative charge type charge controlling agent. In the formulae I and II, arom. ring means a carbon ring, a heterocycle or a ring formed by condensing carbon rings, heterocycles or a carbon ring and a heterocycle, and it is, e.g. a benzene ring, a naphthalene ring, an anthracene ring or a phenanthrene ring. An aluminum compd., a zinc compd., a potassium compd., a boric acid compd. or a sodium compd. is appropriately used.</p> |
