FIELD: poultry farming, in particular, feeding different kinds of birds at cage or floor keeping conditions. SUBSTANCE: system has linear illumination devices connected to control unit, storages for different kinds of feeds connected to control unit, and feed mixer connected to process feeding line, which has mixed feed dosers, feeders and waterers. Method involves providing operation of feeding system in accordance with bird's biological rest and feeding rhythm. Method and system provide formation and promotion of bird's biological feeding activity and rest rhythms by changing direction of optical radiation flux, illumination intensity and visible radiation spectrum above feeding activity process zone and rest zone. EFFECT: increased efficiency by adequate realization of system operation in accordance with bird's physiological processes. 3 dwg, 1 tbl
