A pulse divider for rational fractional divisors, using the tandem arrangement of binary stages with pulse feedback to realise a fractional division factor. Certain of the pulse feedback lines may also incorporate binary stages. Feedback may be positive or negative. The action depends on breaking down the required division factor as a so-called continuous fraction with whole number partial nominators, each of which can be interpreted as a binary divider.
