摘要 <p>The invention relates to a process for producing a semi- finished powder metallurgy product for the production of metal foam, according to which process a powder of the matrix metal, e.g. aluminium, is mixed with a metallic foaming agent powder, e.g. titanium hydride, and is then compacted, for example by cold isostatic pressing (CIP) and is further compacted by extrusion, rolling or the like and is shaped into a semi-finished product, which semi-finished product can ultimately be foamed, in particular in a mould, by being heated to the melting point of the matrix metal resulting in dissociation of the foaming agent; scrap and waste material from the compacted powder mixtures and semi-finished product which has not been foamed are comminuted by shredders or granulation, cleaned if appropriate, mixed with mixtures of matrix metal powders and foaming agent, compacted and processed once again into a semi-finished product. <IMAGE></p>
