PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a dynamic range with good linearity from a low lightness area to a high lightness area and to obtain a picture without degradation by photographing the same picture under first and second different exposure conditions, converting the first and second photographed pictures into luminous components and color components and compositing the first and second pictures. SOLUTION: Output of a color resolving part 11 to resolve colors of the inputted photographed pictures into B, G, R components by a filter is converted into an electric signal by a CCD:12. Luminance and hues of the B, G, R picture components are converted into a Lab space, etc., by a Lab converting part 3. The luminous components of the first and second pictures are composited for the same picture by using many luminous components of the first picture to include many pieces of bright information and to be photographed under the condition over a wide dynamic range for a bright picture area and compositing the luminous components of the second picture to include many pieces of dark information and to be photographed under the condition over a wide dynamic range for a dark picture area by a simple adding and averaging method and a method to joining the luminous components by changing their weight, etc., by a picture compositing part 4 to put together the first and second pictures under the different exposure conditions. |
