PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound capable of preventing proliferation of tumor cells without damaging protection system of a body, and useful for treatment of leukemia such as T- AND B-cell type chronic leukemia, lymph node cancer such as Hodgkin's type and non Hodgkin's type lymphoma, or the like. SOLUTION: This new compound is a compound of formula I (R<1> is H, a 2-6C alkyl or the like; R<2> is H, a 2-3C alkenyl or the like; R<3> is pyridyl substituted with a halogen or the like, a group of formula II or the like; R<4> to R<6> are each a halogen, nitro or the like), e.g. 5-methylisoxazole-4-carbox(4- trifluoromethyl)anilide. The compound of formula I is obtained, for example, by reacting a compound of formula III (X is a halogen), (e.g. 5-methylisoxazole-4- carbonyl chloride) with an amine of formula IV (e.g. 4-trifluoromethylaniline). The daily dose for treatment of an adult patient suffered from leukemia and having 70 kg weight is preferably about 25-100 mg when being orally administered.
