The machine tool has a broach driven in rotation to control a cutting tool having simultaneous advance. The broach (2) is mounted directly on rails (3) which guide blocks (4) attached to the broach. The advance is controlled by two hydraulic cylinders (6,6') with a hydraulic regulator (8). The broach, rails, cylinders and regulator are aligned along the working axis (20) of the broach.
