Separation of mixtures of paper and metals or plastics and metals

The separation plant uses a fluid in which the plastics or paper floats and the metal sinks. The waste material is ground to a grain size of less than 1.5 mm diameter before being introduced into the fluid. The flotation fluid comprises water to which salts have been added to adjust the density. The temperature of the solution is raised to 27 deg C to ensure that enough salt can dissolve.
