PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive electronic mail while using only a telephone set or facsimile equipment without using any special communication equipment. SOLUTION: A call converting device 18 converts a signal received from a telephone set 14 through a public telephone line 8 to a TCP packet signal, transmits it to a facsimile mail server 16, converts electronic mail data received from the facsimile mail server 16 through an internet 4 to a facsimile signal and transmits it through the public telephone line 8 to facsimile equipment 12. Besides, the facsimile mail server 16 requests the transmission of electronic mail data to the mail server 16 based on the signal received from the call converting device 18 through the internet 4 and transmits the electronic mail data, which are received from the mail server 6 through the internet 4, through the internet 4 to the call converting device 18. |
