<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and accurately discriminate the variety of the blind cylindrical works of the same dimension design and different surface states. SOLUTION: The size of the blind cylindrical work provided with separated plural shape patterns on an end face and plural holes arranged on a concentric circle on the inner peripheral side and the number of the holes are measured and a group to which the work belongs is selected based on the measured results. The end face of the work is photographed, the image signal is multilevel-processed and then polar coordinate is transformed, the transformed image is compared with registered images inside the selected group, the most correlated image is selected and thus, the work provided with the same size and design is selected. For the work, by calculating the average luminance of the area provided with a prescribed luminance level of an annular area including a part of the shape patterns on the end face and comparing the value with a reference value, the work of the same surface state of the end face is selected. For the work, by comparing the arrangement of the holes and the reference value, the variety of the work is established.</p> |
