Device comprises: an identifying label (10) of radio frequency and a memory containing identifying information attached to the equipment, and reader devices located in the skiing area for reading the identifying information carried by the equipment. A database of stolen equipment can be used to compare with information read by the reader devices. An Independent claim is made for a process for identifying stolen equipment the discovery device.
