The telescope, which is perfectly stigmatic axially, incorporates a concave spherical primary reflector and no corrector. It has a secondary convex divergent reflector in the shape of an ellipsoid of revolution about its smaller axis and based on the geometrical characteristics of the system, with its curvature increasing with distance from its axis. Alternatively, the secondary reflector can use a divergent lens or group of lenses with spherical or flat faces, made from traditional mineral glass and with the face opposite the primary reflector made reflective by an aluminium or silver coating.
