The support structure (14) includes a bend region (16) with a V-shaped cross-section extending away from the dashboard (11), a box region (18) with a hollow, polygonal cross-section distant from the top region (12) of the dashboard and a flange region (20) for receiving the windscreen (15). The support structure has a jib configuration with the bend, box and flange regions arranged one after the other. A depression (12a) in the top of the dashboard receives the bottom part (18a) of the box region when the bend region is bent as a result of a collision impact.
