Aluminoxanate compsn. (I) comprises the reaction prod. of: (a) an aluminoxane; and (b) a salt selected from alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium, phosphonium and sulphonium salts of Gp. 13-16 element-contg. polyoxy cpds., wherein (b) is present at 0.01-5.0 moles per mole of Al in (a). Also claimed is an olefin polymerisation catalyst comprising (I) and a metallocene (c), partic. as the solid reaction prod. of (a), (b) and (c).
