PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a communication line and a display device in a navigation apparatus in common with route guide information and another vehicle signal, by installing a display unit used to sequentially display guide image data which is transmitted by a serial communication operation or a parallel communication operation via the communication line connected to a navigation apparatus body. SOLUTION: A CPU 86 reads out map data, road data or the like via a CD-ROM driver 83, and bit map data is generated. Its image is composed of binary data, and the bit map data is transmitted by a serial signal or a parallel signal via an interface 87 such as an IC or the like for communication. A display 90 which displays route guide information temporarily stores in a buffer memory 92 binary data which is transmitted by a serial communication operation or a parallel communication operation form a navigation apparatus body 80. On the basis of the data, a display driving signal is generated by a drive circuit so as to be displayed. |
