A disposable diaper (1) with a front section (2), a crotch section (3), a rear section (4) and a pair of liquid-permeable wing sections (5) is described. The wing sections extend laterally outwards from opposite sides of the rear section, so that the diaper can be applied by securing the wing sections to one another, with the front section (2) then being applied on these wing sections (5).
