PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hearth roll for a heat treating furnace preventing the meandering of a strip to improve sheet passability and exhibiting excellent high temp. peeling resistance, high temp. wear resistance and build-up resistance. SOLUTION: This is a hearth roll 1 for a heat treating furnace arranged in a heat treating furnace, heat-treating a metallic strip and carrying it and, on the surface of a roll base metal 2, a heat insulating layer 4 composed of a quasi-crystalline alloy, a metallic layer 5 for bonding and an outermost surface layer 6 composed of ceramics or cermet are formed successively to laminate a coating layer 3. The metallic layer for bonding is preferably composed of an NiCr alloy or a CoCr alloy. |
