The circuit has an adjustable frequency oscillator and an adjustable timer, with the rates set by altering component values. The circuit is supplied when supply is delivered to the third stop lamp upon operation of the brake pedal. The electronic circuit drives a relay in the lamp supply circuit, and at the end of the timed interval holds the supply constant till the brake pedal is released.
