PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new advanced power unit for secondary battery charging and discharging device, which is contrived to save energy by effectively and efficiently regenerating and utilizing the stored electric energy of a secondary battery, when the battery is discharged without adversely affecting the peripheral equipment. SOLUTION: A power unit is provided with an auxiliary battery 2, which is composed of a secondary battery and charged with the electric power discharged from a test battery 1, and the electric power discharged from the auxiliary battery 2 is used for charging the test battery 1. A booster means, such as a DC-to-DC converter 7, etc., is connected to the feeding route between the batteries 1 and 2. In addition, the electric power discharged from the test battery 1 is suitably supplied to the auxiliary battery 2 and/or a load for discharging by managing the charged and discharged states of the batteries 1 and 2. The power unit is constituted in such a way that the batteries 1 and 2 can also be charged suitably from a DC power source. |
