The linear drive mechanism consists of a motor (1) and a worm-gear (2) containing a spindle (3) and spindle nut linked to the component. The linear drive mechanism is pivot mounted by at least one axle (10) on a bracket (9) connected to the fixed component such as bodywork. The bracket is joined to the motor housing (11) or part of the motor holder. The linear drive mechanism is held in a ball-and-socket bearing (14,15). The spindle nut is swivel mounted on at least one plane in the worm-gear housing.
