The wristwatch has a radio receiver (15) and a mechanical tensioning device which can be manually transferred to a position in which it is subject to a spring force, so that when mechanically triggered it exerts a detectable effect on the wrist. The tensioning device is triggered by reception of a paging radio signal via the receiver. A display reproduces a message transmitted by radio signal.
