PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of providing excellent corrosion resistance, long period adhesiveness and cold cycle characteristics to steel materials even under corrosive environments, such as seawater, using the steel materials by compounding a specific main agent, an amine-based curing agent, etc. SOLUTION: This anticorrosive coating composition for steel materials comprises (A) a main agent comprising (i) 50 pts.wt. of 4,4-(bishydroxyphenyl) alkane-glycidyl ether and (ii) 20-80 pts.wt. of a novolak type epoxy resin, (B) an amine-based curing agent in such an amount that the ratio of the total epoxy equivalents of the component A to the active hydrogen equivalents of the amine-based curing agent is 1:1-0.5, (C) a zinc borate compound (for example, zinc metaborate) in an amount of 5-50 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the sum of the total amount of the component A with the amount of the component B, and (D) a chromic acid-based anticorrosive pigment (strontium chromate, etc.), in an amount of 1-30 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the sum of the total amount of the component A with the amount of the component B. |
