SOLUTION: When there is an incoming call while an automatic answering mode is set, the telephone number information of the caller detected by a number display decoder 5 at that time is extracted. Then, the automatic response is performed by connecting a call-incoming telephone. In this case, it is judged whether any one of telephone numbers stored in a telephone directory database using an external memory 10 is coincident with the telephone number of the dected incoming call or not. If there is a coincident telephone number, concerning that coincident telephone number in the telephone directory database, it is judged whether the voice data of the caller name are stored or not. If the voice data of the caller name are stored, these voice data of the caller name are reproduced and sent to the side of the party.
