PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an illegal user from reproducing digital data and seeing them. SOLUTION: This display device is the one which reproduces and displays digital data including reproducer specification information for specifying a device that can reproduce and display. A CPU 101 has a decision means for deciding whether or not the reproducer specification information and display device ID information inherent to the display device coincide with each other and a display control means for controlling the digital data reproduced on the basis of the decision result by the decision means to be display or non- display.
